What do you believe?

Prayer Focus week 31 (Sunday-Shabbat)

What do you really believe? Oh, yes, we all believe that Jesus is Lord and that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. But Scripture teaches that our actions  testify to what we really believe. Let’s spend a moment analyzing our lives.

Look at your checkbook register. Where does most of your money go: to food? entertainment? clothes? hobbies? church?

Now, look at your calendar. Where do you spend most of your time: work? TV? relaxing? Periodically throughout the day, assess how you are spending your free time.

As we are truly honest with ourselves, we will see what we really believe based off of how we spend our money and time – for where our treasure & our time go, there is our heart! (Jas 2:18; Matt 6:21). If we find we are falling short of walking according to “how” we think we should, then now is the time to confess and make a change.

Remember, our actions confirm our faith. What we really believe is what we do!

Verse to memorize:  We are over half way through memorizing this powerful Psalm. Keep going!
o    Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust (Psalm 91:1-2, NIV)
o    Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; (Psalm 91:3-4, NIV)
o    You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. (Psalm 91:5-6, NIV)
o    A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. (Ps 91:7-8, NIV)
o    If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the LORD, who is my refuge –
then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. (Ps 91:9-10, NIV)
o   For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; (Ps 91:11, NIV)
