Sticks and Stones

You can choose whether you let words hurt.  Don’t be hyper-sensitive – you give them control.

You can choose NOT to hurt others with words.  However, you can’t please everyone all the time!

Psalm 119:165 AMPC   Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble.

Proverbs 10:12 ESV   Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

Proverbs 17:9 NIV   Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.

Proverbs 17:19 CJB   Those who love quarreling love giving offense; those who make their gates tall are courting disaster.

Proverbs 18:19 NASB   A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a citadel.

Proverbs 19:11 ESV   Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.

Ecclesiastes 10:4 NASB   If the ruler’s temper rises against you, do not abandon your position, because composure allays great offenses.

Isaiah 29:20-21 ESV   For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off, who by a word make a man out to be an offender, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and with an empty plea turn aside him who is in the right.

Matthew 6:15 CJB   If you do not forgive others their offenses, your heavenly Father will not forgive yours.
