Prayer & Fasting, week 2

Prayer Focus: the United States

What do we hear on the news? What do we hear when talking with friends? Chaos and disaster is everywhere we look. Our country is in desperate need of revival!

imp-logoNow is the time for us to rally together and stand against the evil that is attempting to  overtake our country, our world.

In one of my favorite Scriptures, 2Chron 7:14, the LORD does NOT say that if or when everyone humbles themselves – prays – and turns from their wicked ways only then will He heal their land. This is not what He says.

Instead, the Sovereign says that if HIS people will humble themselves (fast), turn from their errant ways (repent), and pray, then HE will heal their land! Hallelu-YAH – the condition of His healing our country is based on the actions of His people – that’s you and me! (His people are the believers! Not the unbelievers, Praise the LORD!)

Together, let us pray for our all-powerful LORD to forgive each of us our sins; let us each turn from our own narcissistic, self-centered ways; and let us seek the Creator of the Universe … and, consequently, He will heal our land!! Isn’t this the earnest desire of each of us?!

Ps 11:3 asks a most poignant question? “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” We ponder, what can the righteous do? We can pray!

Are we willing to pray 15 minutes a day for the United States?

Here are a couple of great verses upon which to meditate:

UNITED STATES:

  • “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth,” 1Timothy 2:1-4, NIV.
  • “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” 2Chronicles 7:14, NIV

Let us hold fast to the LORD and pray and fast, believing that: “The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you [the United States] will be defeated before you [us]. They will come at you [our nation] from one direction but flee from you [us] in seven,” Deut 28:7 NIV.

… and let’s not forget to continue praying for healing for our loved ones!

“LORD, we each confess our sins and our wicked ways. Help us to turn fully back from that which would so easily beset us. Heal our land, we pray, O sovereign King. Heal those who are suffering physically. Bring Your peace to Jerusalem. In Yeshua’s mighty Name, we ask these things, Amein.”
