Answer the Call: be an elite soldier!

The last three years, we have been talking about our being in a spiritual boot camp. Weekly, we have felt and seen God build our spiritual muscles & our perseverance. These last 3 weeks much of our training came together; the Lord sent us out on spiritual special ops missions.

Interestingly, I just came across a fantastic book which perfectly parallels our spiritual journeys thru boot camp & Operation Jericho. The book, A More Elite Soldier, is by US Army Airborne Ranger Chuck Holton. I was struck by how he succinctly sums our missions:

Remember, the elite soldier is a competent, well-trained, well-equipped warrior. While he may not always be privy to the big picture, he understands his portion of the mission and performs it with perseverance and skill, trusting in the knowledge and ability of his commanders. When not engaged in combat, he is always training for the next battle.

“Being an elite soldier isn’t all guns and glory. It is a life of purpose-filled privation, meaningful misery, and postponed payment. It is never easy but always worth it. Pursuing God’s purpose is, by definition, the hard road – a path that few will be willing to follow.

“The real question is: Are you willing to be an elite soldier?

“Are you ready to allow your Commander to make you more than you were, more than you are, and more than you ever could be without His help? … Don’t be afraid. Join the battle!

“The time is short, and the mission cannot wait.”

QUESTION: are we willing to answer His calling of being an elite soldier? Many, many people are dependent upon our intercession!!

“Our heavenly Commander – thank You for continuously leading and guiding us! We do want to be one of Your elite soldiers. Help us understand how to walk as one of Your elite soldiers. Bless the homecoming of our soldiers and their families – help their transition to be easy. Heal those who sick physically, financially, and/or emotionally. We pray for Israeli believers. Bless them. Give them favor. Bring Your peace to J’lem. In Your awesome Name, we pray.”
