Blessings: Shema & Aaronic Blessing

Shema (Hear O Israel):

שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יהוה אֶחָד

(chant the next line in an undertone)

 בָּרוּךְ שֵׁם כְּבוֹד שֵׁם כְּבוֹד מַלְכוּתוֹ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד

(repeat the next line twice)

וְאָהַבְתָּ אֵת יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּכָל לְבָבְךָ וּבְכָל נַפְשְׁךָ וּבְכָל מְאֹדֶךָ

וְאָהַבְתָּ  לְרֵעֲךָ  כָּמוֹךָ: אָמֵן

Hear, O Israel, YHVH Our God, YHVH is One.

Blessed be His glorious Name Whose kingdom is forever and ever!

And you shall love YHVH your God with all your heart & with all your soul and with all your might.

And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart.

And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit at home, and when you walk along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.

And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Dt 6:4-9, ESV)

And you shall love your neighbor as yourself. Amen. (Lev 19:18b, ESV)

Aaronic Blessing (aka Priestly Blessing or Birkat HaCohanim)

יְבָרֶכְךָ יהוה וְיִשְׁמְרֶךָ

יָאֵר יהוה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ וִיחֻנֶּךָ

 יִשָּׂא יהוה פָּנָיו אֵלֶיךָ

וְיָשֵׂם לְךָ שָׁלוֹם

YHVH bless you and keep you;

YHVH make his face to shine upon you and be gra0cious to you;

YHVH lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
